Case Note: Gyeonggi Hosting Bay Audit
A 120-rig hosting facility in Paju contacted us in March 2025 after their KEPCO bill jumped 18% quarter-over-quarter despite stable occupancy. We conducted an on-site power assessment over two days.
Findings:
- Aggregate draw at the main panel exceeded sum-of-nameplate by 11%
- Four racks had reversed hot/cold aisle containment, raising inlet temps to 32°C
- Spot-checks on six representative units showed J/TH figures 6–14% worse than manufacturer specs
Outcome: The facility reconfigured aisle containment and replaced 14 failing fans. Follow-up spot-checks three months later showed aggregate draw within 3% of recalculated expectations. The client used our report in a successful rate renegotiation with their colocation landlord.
Case Note: Comparative Analysis for Fleet Upgrade
An operator in Daejeon weighing S19 XP vs. S21 units sent four machines (two of each) for comparative rig analysis. Our parallel runs at 25°C ambient showed the S21 units averaging 19.8 J/TH vs. the S19 XP at 21.4 J/TH, with the S21 drawing 180 fewer watts per unit at equivalent hashrate.
The operator used the ranked table — with cost projections at their 95 KRW/kWh industrial rate — to justify a phased upgrade over six months rather than a single bulk purchase.
