Our Origin
Filehemlockcore began when founder Min-seok Choi, then running a 30-rig farm in Daegu’s northern industrial zone, discovered that two supposedly identical Antminer S17 units drew 380 watts apart at the wall. Manufacturer spec sheets offered a single J/TH figure with no tolerance band. Pool hashrate alone could not explain the gap.
He built a small test bench with a borrowed power analyzer, ran both units for eight hours, and found one had degraded thermal paste and a failing intake fan. The finding saved his operation roughly ₩2.1 million in annual electricity at prevailing KEPCO industrial rates. Word spread among local operators, and by late 2019 the bench-testing work had grown enough to register as a formal company.
What We Do Today
We operate a dedicated benchmark lab in Jung-gu, Daegu, testing mining hardware rated at 0.05 TH/s and above. Our work centers on performance-per-watt measurement: the joules consumed per terahash under controlled, documented conditions. We serve individual miners, hosting facilities, and equipment resellers across South Korea.
Our Team
Min-seok Choi — Lead analyst and company founder. Former farm operator with seven years of hands-on ASIC deployment experience. Oversees all benchmark protocols and report sign-off.
Yuna Han — Lab technician. Handles hardware intake, environmental chamber setup, and thermal imaging. Previously worked in industrial HVAC commissioning.
Jae-won Kim — Field assessor. Conducts on-site power assessments at farms and hosting bays throughout mainland South Korea.
Working Approach
We test hardware as received unless you request a specific firmware profile. Ambient conditions are logged and disclosed in every report. We do not accept payment from manufacturers for favorable ratings, and we disclose any units supplied directly by vendors for review.
Our reports are written for operators who pay electricity bills, not for marketing departments. When a unit underperforms its spec sheet, we say so plainly.
